I just got a phone call from Aetna which is my Medicare add on. The gentleman mispronounced my surname and I corrected him. He wanted to schedule an in home healthcare visit. I said no thank you. He asked why. I told him it was intrusive and I don't want strangers coming in my house. But, he continued, we want to be sure you're ok. I said I'm fine. I'm 73 but quite active. My son and DIL live with me and if I feel unwell I can go to the doctor if warranted. He said well we can check your home and share our findings with your doctor. I asked if it was mandatory and he said no. I said have a nice day. We are done here. Why would anyone consent to this? Hell no! Stay in your lane, Aetna!

Wow, talk about over-reach. Sounds like you were very polite. I have learned that when I decline something politely, and the person pushes harder, it usually works for me to instantly go to 10 on the scale. I've let them have their say, I have given my answer / response in a cordial manner. If they then don't accept that and continue pushing, I let them know in no uncertain terms I am done with them. Just a suggestion and thanks for answering.
