I've watched the clip from this view numerous times and still can't quite tell wtf is going on. from what I can tell, the guy was doing something he shouldn't have been doing. was likely going to be arrested, but instead of taking his medicine he decides to fight back.
a few things from my point of view.
if you're going to carry and get arrested, do not resist, let them know you are armed.
what the hell was this guy thinking??? oh I'm going to wrestle with 6+ grown men, and I have my piece of me, this is going to go well.
was this guy on something? why'd it take so many guys to put him down??? hell, they may still be arresting him if he hadn't been shot.
given the circumstances, it seems like the officers are in the clear. it is however bad optics. my wife told me about this incident, I hadn't be online for a day or so. she like... oh some guy got shot, he was just holding his phone. I think this is going to far now. right away I knew that didn't sound right.
this may not be common practice but I did see an ICE team that seemed to have a guy with a production style camera filming everything. while body carms are great, they should probably have a camera guy like this on every team.
going back to resisting... I have never seen a case where the arresting officers are like, oh boy hes putting up a pretty good fight. we should let him go.
