My wife doesn't bring those types to my house anymore. She goes for coffee or lunch with them instead. I will (and have) embarrass her, or make a scene, or put up a Trump flag, or pour a big glass of Scotch - just depends on how much I despise them. Wife needs to understand that not all ladies from her church group are the same. Some are on the wrong side of everything, incessantly gossip, and have zero self-awareness. They are the ones that all sit together in the front row at church, all volunteer together for breakfasts, and gossip the whole time about everyone else (including the pastor).

They all grew up together in this small town, and to them everyone that chose to move here (rather than just being born in this town) are inferior. I find those people dishonest, sad, and fake.
