You can't prevent people from having viewpoints that don't align with yours. And simply because someone is a conservative doesn't mean that they will be a good President.
So all it takes is one really shitty conservative President in the future to create a back lash for liberals to ride a wave of popularity right back into the White House.
And if you don't think that there can't be shitty conservatives, let me point you to all the RINOs people complain about. Oh, and the Bush family. Can't forget about them. They're the perfect example of what happens when you have a shitty Republican president.
