This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.

Why doesn't the US just block all welfare/government payments and services to illegals.
Wouldn't that make a lot more people self deport?
It would be a way better look and easier too as you could deport people without lifting a finger.
No school for children who aren't citizens for example.
Executive order and withholding funds to get states to comply.
From what I understand Canada actually does this and it's why Canada doesn't have a huge illegal population compared to US.
Agreed. Why are we even paying welfare and ebt to most American citizens? I understand some people might need occasionally. That’s the problem they get assistance for a lifetime. Yet hurricane flooding victims in NC mountains are still living in tents. The entire “handout” system should be overturned.
I don't think it's going to most. But it is a significant percentage IIUC.
I never liked these programs because they are trying to bandaid over an economy that's not working.
Plus they can Incenrivize not working, which we see in areas where welfare becomes a generational way of life
Since none of it is "officially" going to illegals, its not as simple. You gotta make them expose themselves, like what Trump is doing. Ultimately we will need a MAGA congress after midterms to codify all this correctly.
I see there is kind of a laundering system going on?
The money isn't directly going to where we can identify its definitely an illegal recipient or not.
