I don't think it's a "sex sells" thing if that helps. If the music video didn't have some lewd stuff it wouldn't be covering the subject matter to it's fullest extent.

Amelia is a counter point to a religion that wants to cover women up. And the UK is suppose to be a place a woman can walk around safely in a short skirt.

Also the video maker's appeals to the gamergate faction. The artistic celebration of women being beautiful and sexy is a right leaning political statement in that landscape as much as the UK one.
