Borax is not the same thing as Boron, which is an essential mineral. Borax was banned as a food additive and is considered a toxin in several countries. It was used as a food preservative in the early 20th century until it was banned. The borax found in the supermarket laundry isle and at hardware stores is an industrial product and is considered not fit for consumption.
I know there are those out there that tout its praises on social media. But, it does have toxicity and it accumulates in the body. It can affect cellular modulation, gastric processes, kidney and liver function, reproductive, and other toxic effects. Boron in small amounts is needed by the body and is usually obtained through diet. But borax is not the way to obtain that boron. Please do some homework on this. Purchase boron supplements if you feel you must, but borax is not a good substitute. Talk to a nephrologist that has had to treat people that destroyed their kidneys taking borax.
I did a lot of research on this too it was banned in Australia because big pharma couldn't make any money with it because it cured arthritis. The so-called industrial product you're talking about is a natural salt that is mined for instance in boron California. One of my best friends is a naturopathic who too has done extensive research on it. The last thing big pharma wants is us to have a cheap natural supplement that works because they can't make any money on it. I wonder what is actually in the boron supplements and what companies make it. I appreciate your opinion everybody is entitled to one that's the beauty of free speech
I believe you would have to take about 30 g over a short period of time to be toxic when I was taking it I was taking about 1.5 g once a day that's a far cry from 30 g
Of course taking a huge dose of borax will have more immediate toxic effects. However, taken in smaller doses borax is also cumulative. In order to extract the boron from the product, it must be broken down by the body first. It is the rest of that salt compound that is not good and can be very hard on the kidneys especially over time. It is just much safer to take boron as a supplement and the dosage can be better controlled. As a medical researcher and professional for over 30 years, I believe that would be a much safer way to get the boron that you need. Boron is great stuff for those battling various conditions. DMSO is another great unsung hero for health when used properly and I am all for it. Borax however, not so much. Please be careful.
No big pharma drug needed here. Boron is available as a supplement. Boron is important as it is essential and has benefits for those that may be deficient. But there are better ways to obtain it than using borax which does carry risks. Those risks cannot be negated and are well understood and have been for years. Supplements are like everything else. You have to research on who is making them and what they contain. They are not all equal.
I worked for 30 years within the medical field and medical research. I have always leaned towards natural methods of healing - which did not earn me any respect or credibility among colleagues. I know about the benefits of boron and that it works. My contention is that people are trying to obtain it by resorting to a product that can be harmful and there is a track record of that harm. If you have anything beyond what is anectodical and has some research regarding the use of borax as you claim, I would be interested in seeing it. I am simply concerned that people will be harmed. In my 30+ years in the field I have seen people do some pretty crazy things to themselves in the pursuit of being healthy.
You are most welcome fren. That is what we are all here for - to help each other out and share information. Good luck to you in the search for better health.
