That's blatant communist/socialist propaganda. Caitlin Johnstone is arguing that capitalism is creepy and evil and needs to be dismantled in a revolution.

So, whenever reading anything from her, keep in mind that it is written from the viewpoint of a person who is inherently against the United States as created by the Founding Fathers and wants the U.S. system to fail so that it can be replaced with a socialist one.
