Speaking candidly at a press conference, the Patriots quarterback was quoted as saying he would “rather retire tomorrow” than wear it. The remarks spread rapidly across social media, triggering intense backlash from league observers and advocacy groups.
With pressure mounting, both Maye and New England’s leadership now face a pivotal moment that could shape his future within the next 24 hours.
The controversy surrounding Drake Maye’s recent comments has sent shockwaves through the NFL. As one of the league’s promising young quarterbacks, Maye has become a lightning rod for discussion after voicing his refusal to wear the LGBT rainbow captain’s armband, a symbol of inclusion and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
I loved football. I watched every Sunday. Then came the kneeling bs. I started only watching my Saints, since they tended NOT to do that stupid shit every Sunday. Then I quit watching all together.
The NFL itself is not very popular here. Most hate Roger Goodell. Hate. Actively hate lol. Last time he was in town, no restaurant said they'd refuse to serve him, just watch out, they might spit in his food 🙈
Very disgusting but he is actively disliked intensely in New Orleans and surrounding area lol.
Now, with this Bad Bunny bs, I look squarely at the NFL. The singer idiot is doing what he always does. The NFL had the choice NOT to sign him on. So, I'm not watching any all.
How are you doing? I think about you often.
Absolutely any time! I understand the feeling everyone around you is dying. Better than I wish I did. I hope you can actually get to spend time with her soon. I get the distinct feeling you both need that. I'll pray you get it soon.
Michael is with you in spirit. I know that doesn't really help. The reality of how much you emotionally depend on them really hits you. It hit me really hard that first New Year Eve. It was horribly foggy and the smoke from all the fireworks just added to it. I was driving home, nervous bc I couldn't see well. My husband always drove, and rare occasions we weren't together, I'd call him and he'd talk to me and keep me steady. Thats the night I truly realized I was alone. I had quit smoking 6 yrs prior. I bought a pack of cigarettes that night. I finally decided to quit again about 5 months ago. I hid it from everyone 🙈 was so ashamed of caving.
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts as well. I don't envy you this tough situation. Don't hesitate if you need a shoulder or an ear.
EDIT: don't hesitate period lol. You don't have to need an ear or shoulder, if you just want to chat.
I thought that dude passed away according to his wife unless she's running his account or a ghost? 🤔
Its his widow.
The game I respect, not the charade that goes on.
I didn't like the prayerfest that came from Tim Tebow every time he scored.
Agree. Its football. Play football. Leave the politics, religion and everything else NOT football outside the arena. Do you on your personal time.
I think it was the famous Fred dryer who use to play defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams way back when,
Who also was starring in some TV series maybe it was Hunter, who said, when you score a touchdown act like you've been there before.
