This has been my journey—one of observation and withdrawal and the next step is reentering the world. You’ll find the world still doesn’t get you but it doesn’t matter anymore. I just wait. I offer advice when asked, support and consistency. It has taken a little while but I have found my friends and family are responding to this change and I appreciate that. I get to be who I am (as well as I can—we are always growing and improving) and it seems like they appreciate it.
