You know, could have sworn that people were complaining about this guy doing the superbowl halftime show on patriots.win early last year, and was surprised to see new complaining about him this year because I assumed he did the superbowl last year.
Was it just announced not terribly long(within a few months) after the superbowl last year, and people were complaining about that? I have only a vague awareness of the superbowl and when it is post-COVID.
It's not that they were huge fans before any of this. It's that it gets under the skin of the average conservative on the worst way.
It's decidedly foreign because it's not like what any of us are regularly exposed to. It's not the music you hear at Mexican restaurants or playing loudly when you drive by a construction site or park. Not is it something like Kpop where can tell it organically has an appeal to young people across the world. It's foreign and you have zero exposure to it but you're told by the media it's bigger than anything. Bigger than Kpop Demon Hunters and Taylor Swift even. And I am no defender of Swift or Kpop Demon Hunters but...it strikes that chord of "you will believe what we tell you to believe"
It's rap adjacent. And I realize a lot of us like rap. Yet even though rap has been around for 40 years at this point, there are still a lot of conservatives who are deeply disgusted by the genre and believe anything electronic or "not singing" isn't music. So the idea of something that isn't music being that successful as music is infuriating. And they love this reaction even though the average liberal Spotify playlist didn't have a single Bad Bunny song on it before this week.
I was well aware of Bad Bunny before this mess. Bad Bunny was featured heavily In WWE two years ago. He performed a "song" and he even took part in a Wrestle Mania wrestling match. The mostly liberal internet wrestling community circlejerked him about how he's such a great wrestler and he's such a big deal he's more important than anyone in the world. "The most streamed artist worldwide"
When the Super Bowl performance was announced I was kind of tickled to be honest. I love anyone getting under the skin of the kind of crowd that thinks the half time show should be nothing but has beens or butt rock. The idea of these grown men getting salty because it wasn't Metallica or Shinedown or Garth Brooks is amusing to me.
Fast forward to today though, and somehow, I'm angry too. Why? Because I can't fathom people watching this garbage and being moved by it. I always do my best to analyze things objectively. In the end my real issue is that the messages being sent are incredibly nihilistic. Music about promiscuity and hypergamy being used to drive a political point about demographic replacement and culture erosion? That's scary stuff.
it's insidious and I want no part of it. Bad Bunny being the top streaming artist world wide is just proof of the intellectual famine across the world. The fact that even Asia can't skew those results shows you how rigged that entire music industry is and how it really is an arm of the cabal
I comfort myself that when the liberal hipsters and blue hairs add some Bad Bunny songs to their playlists, when they shuffle and the algorithm just keeps pushing them music that sounds exactly the same they're going to be so pissed. Their precious curation gone!
I was mostly talking about the Facebook/x conservative not the anon. I regularly research facebook and reddit for what normie conservatives are saying. They're definitely mad about Bunny
Well we all know human trafficking is at it's height during the super bowl. Maybe a connection? It's what I've been thinking but we all know the norms won't math it.
Well gee if they knew the words would they still be on so enthralled?
Reminds me of how much I liked one particular k-pop dance number and song. Til the day I figured out that hidden in it were a few words in the lyrics, "baby in a microwave". What. The. Fuck.

Maybe they think it does . . . most of us had never heard of them! They opened the Overton window . . .
I was mostly talking about the Facebook/x conservative not the anon. I regularly research facebook and reddit for what normie conservatives are saying. They're definitely mad about Bunny
Just since he was picked for the Super-Bowl?
The only thing stopping this transvestite from slipping back into obscurity is too many people continuing to talk about it.
Why gloves?? The White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland was frantic about his gloves. . . curious and curiouser
64 is thee number of squares on a Chess board.
The white rabbit played croquet, how does chess come in to the white rabbit?
i see the #64 on his White Jersey.
OH I did not notice that!
You're as close to perfect as they come.
touché Sir Bud!

They are as predictible as a clock and as manipulable as putty.
Well gee if they knew the words would they still be on so enthralled?

When I was a kid, I liked Louie Louie by the Kingsmen, but trying to listen to it on the car radio or a transistor radio, I never did know the words!
It pays to know the words before praising it . . .
My favorite is the feminists willfully ignoring how vulgar and sexist his lyrics are because OrangeMan Bad!
Almost like these are the kind of women who would let you grab them by the ... well, you know.
yes but in their dreams . . .
Why has Goodell given Jay-Z control of what performers can appear at Super Bowl. "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"
Never should have made a big deal about this guy. No one watches the SB half time show. We can just blame ourselves on this one.
YEAH he is just a big NO BODY!
The adrenochrome molecular structure looks like a bunny and is called "Bad Bunny" ... Just another coincidence.
OH I did not know it was called Bad Bunny! How does he get by in the civilized world using that name?!?
