There is a lot of info you have to give out in order to get a firearm in Canada. Now it's on the dark web. Second amendment is so important.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think there is fuckery afoot with this. The '3rd party vendor' responsible is still doing business with the government, so they don't seem to concerned...
And then there is a mass shooting in British Columbia.
Same playbook in UK, New Zealand and Australia.
Unarm the citizens then go full commie.
Here in the U.S., it would be easier to DOX who DOESN'T own at least one gun :)
If they even know about that gun. Sometimes, they're gifted, and sometimes they are traded privately.
Too bad they didn't just eliminate the files.
I got a bad feelin' on this one.
Hopefully, this will tell criminals what homes they should not go to.
Yeah, doesnt work like that in Canada.
With guns up there, You have no right to self defense, no castle doctrine, no stand your ground, no personal defense or protection laws. There are no gun rights laws, only criminal law refers to guns.
You do have a duty to retreat.
If a guy breaks into your home, shouts to twenty witnesses there he is going to kill you, stabs you, then you shoot him dead, you go to jail for murder with a deadly weapon.
All guns taken away, and you are assumed GUILTY of murder. You have to PROVE it was a defensive murder, explain why you didnt retreat, etc. If you have a good lawyer and some of the witnesses show up and make it through cross examination, you may get off, and have your guns returned to you in not less than a year.
Source: Canadian citizen (work friend), we discussed a similar situation that happened to his neighbor. Several years ago. Therefore this is second hand. At the time what canadian laws on guns i could find seemed to bear out the story.
Oops.
