IfI had a hunch about some creepy celebrity, I'd definitely look then up. Doesn't mean I'm protecting them. Also if I were a high profile person I'd see if anyone mentioned my name.
What about looking up your black mail handler to see if they are in the files? What about looking up their associates? This goes well beyond happenstance "oh I wonder if Tom Cruise is in the files." That is a convenient normie take to deflect from this absolute genius chess move.
