It can - even though the disclosure was very minor. This stuff happens in the DoD/DoW a fair amount but not usually with the Secretary or higher-up leaders. If it did though, typically we hear phrases such as "lost confidence" or lack of leadership and then someone is gone.
I expect that here. It's not the value of the disclosure, but rather it is the fact that she was so careless that she risked compromising a massive international investigation.
