Google says (and sometimes it's correct) "Most British police officers do not routinely carry guns, as policing in the UK is based on consent with a focus on unarmed, community-based approaches. Only a small percentage of specially trained Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs) are licensed to carry firearms, usually only for high-risk operations."
