17th amendment messed everything up. Used to be that senators were nothing more than messengers for the state governments and worked directly for the governors and state senators. Then FDR made them elected officials essentially turning them into little oligarchs and effectively destroying the states voice in DC. So now we have corrupt senators with absolutely no kind of term limits and you also have states losing power to Washington and no way to get it back or to have a voice. It’s really something that needs to be resolved if we are to make America great again it’s like a basic problem that nobody is talking about
