I didn’t know that “moon crickets” was slang for black people. This is just getting worse and worse.
Neither did I, and I had an uncle, born 1899. He despised blacks. My parents literally stopped taking us places if he was going to be there - parades, things like that, open to the public. He knew every nasty word and had zero compunction about using them loudly while out in public settings.
I had to go look it up.
