tAqO...you have elucidated exactly what needs to be done before this chemical is off the market. And I do believe that President Trump realizes this along with Sec. Kennedy.
Until a "SAFE" replacement is found this is the truth that has to be lived with, however, there are certain things that can be done to make sure that humans are not INGESTING this stuff in quantities that will cause cancers and other such maladies!!!!!...BUY FROM LOCAL FARMERS who don't touch the stuff and ask a fruit/vegetable stands if this stuff was used...Sharp Minds, Create Smart Tongue!!!!!
Kennedy said as much in the interview - essentially that you can't just shut it down immediately because it would devastate countless farmers. He's right.
It's a bit more complex and complicated than most know... especially those who have never farmed or even had a garden bigger than 5 acres...
Of course, everyone wants to go the natural/organic route... but few really understand what it takes to do that. Right off the bat, you need HUGE AMOUNTS OF SHIT...and - you need REALLY healthy, live soil. Where are you going to get the SHIT? Animals like horses, cows/steer and chickens - a LOT of chickens - are required to generate enough organic type fertilizer to cover any substantial acreage. It's staggering actually...
This is EXACTLY WHY chemical fertilizer became so popular when the Ag guy came around to the farm in the 40s promising bigger yields. And they DID create more produce as a result. Now, this increased yield became an EXPECTATION going forward. Fertilizing using the old honey wagon became obsolete because the difference in yield was serious.
Farm LABOR is a huge expense - Going organic/natural? You're only going to go so far using row crop tilling via a tractor. It STILL REQUIRES LABOR via a crew using a hoe BY HAND to get the weeds where the tractor can't reach - which is exactly WHY Roundup is so popular.
They've cut out ALL the need for farm animals to drive the rest if the farm via a "natural SHIT battery" - AND all the associated animal maintenance - vet care, deworming, hay (a whole other operation), grain/supplements, foot/hoove/farrier, water, housing, etc etc and the LABOR involved (not to mention stress/worry - most have NO idea)
So now you have high yield per acre down to a science (whether that's the RIGHT decision for humanity is another discussion) - razor thin margins, subsidies to actually get paid, insurance, weather, losses, etc - They've gotten REALLY efficient at doing ONE crop ... Switching over to "organic" is a completely different world with MORE inputs required for WAY LESS yield on an already RAZOR THIN return - AND there's not enough "premium" for no spray/organic/natural labelled produce to BREAK EVEN - let alone profit from it. It's a VERY TOUGH situation... and one that no amateur gardener understands when it's scaled up...
It will take TIME to get out from under the mess we've made for ourselves in this regard...
