My Dad just sent me this. My parents are vacationing there. At least 5-6 fires of automobiles on the streets. Everyone is off the streets and asked to remain inside. Hearing it's cartel acting out in retaliation.
My Dad said "Not a single law enforcement, first responder, fire department or military person has been seen... Would never happen like that in the US." My parents are lefties, I love them, but it took all of me to not say do you not remember the "summer of love"???...blue cities burned just like this
Cartel retaliation. A big cartel boss got killed by the Mexican Army. Reportedly U.S Assistance was given to the operation that killed the boss. So now a reprisal against Americans and Mexican authorities is unfolding
Trump and U.S forces acting in support of Mexican operations iced a Cartel Boss from CJNG. Cartel retaliation. Unconfirmed reports American Tourists are being targeted to kill or capture as hostages.
Thank you for asking. They are good. They guy they had a fishing trip with was able to get them to Bucerias where they have the second week of their trip booked; a bit safer and more secluded from the chaos. They've been to PV many times and I've been to different parts of Mexico several times as well (mainly all inclusives) and have never encountered anything close to this type of experience. It's my Dad's 71st birthday today too....defintily one for the books!
I visited Mexico in the early 1970's, including Puerto Vallerta, and it was awesome! This was when the exchange rate was 8 pesos to the dollar. The third world aspects were visible, but it was a relatively safe country to visit back then. It's so sad to see what the cartels have done to the country, and done to our country!

Looks lovely, I can see why the Mexicans proudly wave their flags in the safety of America.
I heard Americans were taken hostage. I hope Trump is already working on a decombobulation plan.

Just tell them to keep their heads down, and barricade the door, they are apparently taking hostages.
Saying a wee prayer for their safety.
When they return home safely and have a chance to decompress, you can debrief them...
What's happening in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta? https://share.google/E77bmvqOyNi6GNROE
