"And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Mark 9:42-44
The assumption here is when the body dies, the flesh dies but the spirit rises to heaven or to hell.
The only way that there's any type of worm, that would be in the host, ie the flesh so upon death the worm would actually crawl out of the host but the worm is not spiritual, I hope not!
In hell, the worms never die. Hope I never go there.
Is that a passage in Revelation?
"And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Mark 9:42-44
That's a hard read to interpret.
The assumption here is when the body dies, the flesh dies but the spirit rises to heaven or to hell.
The only way that there's any type of worm, that would be in the host, ie the flesh so upon death the worm would actually crawl out of the host but the worm is not spiritual, I hope not!
This passage needs further study.
