They know they'll never have to pay it.
The only reason to kidnap an 84-year-old woman in poor health who can hardly walk - is as a warning or a penalty to her family.
If the family did what the kidnappers wanted, they might actually find their mother stashed away in a low-profile nursing home in Connecticut or the UK. The rest of us will never know.
If the family did not do what was demanded, then their mother is gone.
This is how evil operates - the technical term is "sociopath" - and they run the world.
If you doubt this, look up what Savannah Guthrie's husband does, and has done, for a living.
this also reminds me of the death of Ivana Trump. I've never been convinced that that was just an accident, either.
I have posted about her Clinton Clean up husband...and I've always felt that Ivana was murdered...hope we find out!
Not to be disrespectful of Ivana Trump here. But that staircase looked lethal to me! And I don't know if her lifestyle was a sober one. I would be afraif to deal with a marble staircase myself. Slippery without the right footwear and she wore long clothes to catch heel on
