At the time, I heard that some players refused the shot. Their only penalty was that they couldn’t travel to Canada for games. Seems like a win/win situation. However, if you did take the jab, why would you let them jab your pitching arm? Seems doubly irresponsible. Like Crash Davis said to Nuke” If you get in a fight with a drunk in a bar, don’t hit him with your pitching hand”.
