I don't think surrender would even work. They would just go underground and continue to terrorize Iran and the rest of the world. Their brand of religion is a cancer to the world. It has to be completely cut out.

Agreed. Difference is that Japan was a viscous enemy, but also honorable in defeat. I have absolutely zero faith in the death cult of Islam. No more gloves off fighting. They start organizing some radical group somewhere, they must be eradicated with extreme force and immediately. Fight to win.
