The context on this doesn't make it AS bad. In this specific district, the GOP often doesn't run anyone, meaning the democrat, more often than not, runs unopposed. So while it sucks regardless because of the spineless incompetent GOP, its not like this was a seat anyone had any hopes for until the mass cleanup happens anyway given most assumed it would be another uncontested election.
Still this SHOULD NOT be a thing, but the context softens this specific case considerably.
Maybe the GOP should run someone who appeals to the electorate and that will at least work with the conservatives. We don’t need to spend much, just run someone who’s willing to do the legwork and is reputable. Force the Dems to spend $$ and resources. Force the Dems to earn the win, instead of just letting them have their puppet installed unopposed.
