We already know from elsewhere in the files that Epstein was pimping underage girls.
One young girl had a serious head injury and got 35 stitches on Epstein’s dining room table“
At a real hospital, doctors are required to report such injuries to the authorities so that they can inquire about abuse. Epstein’s purpose of going outside the system was to avoid reporting the abuse so that similar abuse could continue. The doctors took cash to enable the continued abuse of underaged victims. They swore an oath to do no harm but sold out their oath by covering up harm so that it could continue.
Those larger inferences may be true, but they're not documented in this story.
Of course, maybe all the doctors I've known were part of a secret billionaire pedo network too. Can't be sure because I have as much evidence as is actually in this NYT story.
The entirety of the Epstein Files do not need to be rehashed for every downstream developing story. We can build upon the existing context. Stop being a weasel. You misinterpreted the import of this story at first. That’s ok. When you were corrected, instead of being grateful, your ego kicked in with lame reasoning and avoidance of already-established facts. That’s not ok.
In your anecdotes about doctors doing things off the books, the doctors are doing a favor by charging less money than it would take to go through insurance. That’s the opposite of what’s going on here.
One of these underaged girls could get on a family insurance plan and have the procedure done the conventional way for less money than what Epstein paid. Epstein has to pay these underground doctors more because of their risk premium for doing something so unethical. Otherwise the doctors wouldn’t do it.
We don't know if the girl's parents were aware, involved or even present. We don't know if the doc charted all this. We don't know if the doc reported it. We don't even know if the ATV story is true or what the true extent of the girl's injuries were. All we think we know is that a doctor stitched a girls head injury on a dining room table and that (shockingly) Epstein called people he was already influencing to arrange it. Certainly he would do the same if the situation were nefarious or totally innocent.
You can discount my lived experience about off-the-books medical treatment if you like. You're left with Epstein taking actions that would be explained away without blinking an eye absent more concrete evidence if it were any wealthy person besides Epstein. In fact, I'd bet if Elon did the same, he'd be lauded as a hero for arranging for this girl's care personally with high up people he could trust.
What little we do know in this story certainly warrants an investigation by someone who has access to the pertinent records or lack thereof. Something the NYT either doesn't have or doesn't mention.
Just because Epstein was a despicable human doesn't infer that every single action he took was nefarious or that everyone who did any service for him or benefitted from knowing him is guilty. Otherwise we should hold DJT to that same standard. This is an example of exactly the sort of conclusions that DJT warned about if the files were released. It's no surprise coming from the NYT.
Swallow your pride and stop doubling-down.

The fact is, we don't know the whole story.

Bullshit. If the situation was totally innocent Epstein would have taken the young girl to the hospital.
