Thought I'd share to get people's thoughts on what this means. This is the first time I've received this direction in terms of avoiding wearing a Coast Guard Auxiliary uniform. The Coast Guard Auxiliary IS a public outreach function for the Coast Guard!

Subject: Fwd: Auxiliarist Uniform Guidance During Heightened Force Protection
Below is guidance for Auxiliarists during the increased FPCON period due to the events in Iran.
1 – Auxiliarists should refrain from wearing their uniforms whenever in transit to/from assignments to duty (e.g., patrol launching locations; meetings for Auxiliary business, training, public outreach).
2 – Unless an Auxiliary flotilla, division, or district meeting is held on a federal, state, or local government facility (public schools and libraries included), Auxiliarists should refrain from wearing their uniforms for such meeting.
3 – Auxiliarists should limit or obscure the use of easily identifiable Auxiliary or military luggage markings and tags in the course of assignments to duty and personal business.

There’s concerns about people targeting Military and Federal personnel. Reserves and Auxiliaries classify as Military personnel. Whether it’s any of the NGO networks seeking to intimidate them. IRGC infiltrated peons engaging in revenge attacks. Or radicalized lone-wolf retards religious or otherwise who’ve been reading shit online from either side of the aisle.
