When they convinced the average American we are a democracy and not a constitutional republic, they opened the door to invasion. Democracy allows the mob to do anything they want. Take over a small community and institute Sharia Law? No problem under a democracy. The fake news simply tells everyone that their freedom of religion allows them to do whatever the fuck they want, and questioning it is an attack on democracy. While the truth is, under our republic, sharia law would be illegal, as it directly conflicts with people's individual rights under the constitution.
