Take this with a Grain (or a full shaker) of Salt 🧂 -- no sauce here. Yet.
And I've no idea how much helium and other gases and rare metals tech industry companies have stored for just such a situation.

🚨 THE ENTIRE CHIP INDUSTRY IS ABOUT TO SHUT DOWN AND NOBODY IS PANICKING YET
No helium. No semiconductors. No phones. No AI. No future.
Samsung and SK Hynix just went on HIGH ALERT. Ships carrying helium have stopped moving through the Gulf.
Here's how this destroys everything — step by step:
- Helium is used to cool semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- Without it, chip fabs CANNOT operate
- There is NO substitute for helium in this process
- Most of the world's helium ships through Gulf routes now under fire
- South Korea makes 60% of the world's memory chips
- Samsung and SK Hynix supply Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, every AI company on Earth
Now watch the domino effect:
- Helium stops shipping
- Chip fabs slow production within DAYS
- Nvidia can't get enough memory chips
- AI data centers can't get enough GPUs
- Apple can't build iPhones
- Tesla can't build cars
- Every cloud server, every laptop, every smart device — delayed
- $600 BILLION semiconductor industry grinding to a halt
This is worse than the 2021 chip shortage. That one was caused by COVID slowing factories.
This one is caused by a WAR blocking the raw materials from even reaching the factories.
And it's not just helium. It's neon. It's palladium. It's every rare gas that ships through the Gulf and Red Sea. [No, palladium is not a gas].
Iran didn't need to fire a single missile at a chip factory.
They just had to make the shipping lanes too dangerous to cross.
The AI arms race. The chip war with China. The $2 trillion tech rally.
All of it depends on a gas that nobody can ship right now.
Their is enough Helium stored in west Texas to supply the world for at least,100 years. I used to drive right by it on 286 on my way to Denver.
Edit this says it was sold off,but it's still their underground.

I'd heard that also.

30% was recently sold, from what i got off wikipedia. but it's wikipedia, can we trust it?
We still have the largest reserve in the world at 20 billion cubic meters.

IT folks love it when you take a hit of helium and then say "ok lets get this meeting started" j/k
LOL!
Probably not much if any. A general rule of thumb. Under prevailing business models. Most Private Companies as a general rule of thumb don’t keep an emergency stockpile of raw materials for production. Too much investment and money tied up in assets set aside for a theoretical emergency. Instead of making money. So they may have a few days worth tied up in various stages of production. But nothing that’ll last any length of time.
Reserve stockpiles of raw materials is usually more of a Government thing.
The U.S though remains one of the number one producers of Helium. And another major producer is Algeria. Neither of which should be adversely affected by the Iranian shenanigans
We might have a few glitches, but they can ship the long way around Africa, if they need to. Might cost 10% more, that's a small part of their total cost.
Articles like this are just made up fear porn,to get reposts and money.
Possibly just another move by PDJT to push us ahead in the chip war against China? Gonna see thousands in line in China to buy iPhones after they fill up those gas tanks …
