I really hate to say this.... but file what I'm about to say under "hard to swallow" pills. What if we're so fractured as a society, what if corruption/sedition/treason are so entrenched, that we need such an attack to occur in order to find the will and resolve to take drastic action? What if stopping such an attack only led to a protracted decline instead of a recovery? We'll never know of course, but having made the same observation as you, there must be some purpose to these words. Could it be to trip them up? Throw off their timing? Map their networks? Reduce severity by impulsive action? Or, maybe the truth is the dark suggestion I presented? I've long considered the possibility that if 9/11 happened today, nobody would really care. The liberals would say "it's just MAGA" deaths if it was in a red state. The right wing just say "who cares about dead shitlibs" if it was in a blue state. That's where we're at. We've seen those sentiments here. Also, everyone is broke and busy and stressed with daily needs to give much thought. A bunch of widespread but simultaneous attacks would be needed to scare, but also to unite. Its super dark to consider this of course, but reality is not peaches and daisies.
