Sounds wonderful, but I was just concentrated on keeping said toddler warm. I am grateful to the crew, that they got us on the plane! It was a wonderful experience that I hope said toddler remembers!
So sad for the crew AND for the crew who, thank God, survived. Not easy to say goodbye when a mistake was made. Prayers for the fallen and for their fellow aviators.
I'm very familiar with them. Two tankers were involved one hit the other as it entered a refueling pattern. Neither of the planes were receiving fuel aircraft.
Thanks fren. I did not realize that refuel involved two!
The one I hopped back to the States on, was National Guard returning home after a NATO exercise. I was so grateful to finally get on a hop! The cold and jump seats were a bonus! ; )
condolences for their families
HAND SALUT TO THE LOST CREW MEMMBERS!!!!

God Speed on Angels Wings and Thank you and Prayers for the Fallen Families at this time!!!!
Love the KC-135! I flew back from Germany on one as a retiree hop with my toddler. No heat! Jump seats! HOO AH!
GOD BLESS the crew that perished! It is a difficult mission.
And I am betting the toddler had a ball and the crew were enchanted.

I wondered why they were so close together.

One is a backup. About 10 of these planes can receive fuel from other tankers, neither of these could do it.
ThankQ. I did not know that a refuler could be reflued. Amazing!
I got a hop on one back to the states after my tour in Thailand. 46 years ago. Edit: Just remembered it was a C-130.
