Years ago I made a music video for my band. I was able to use NASA footage and animations because they are in the public domain. That is because as a government agency they work for us, the taxpayer.
They are our employees and as such the fruits of their labor belongs to us.
I see no reason why this does not apply to all areas of our government.
We own the footage from the 86+ cameras around the Pentagon and should have it all.
