That is my perception of it as well. The problem I have with the people who are in the 'all Zionists are evil crowd' is the same problem I'd have with applying that 'logic' to every other group that believes they have certain 'land rights' -
The Jews have had a continuous presence in Israel for 2000+ years - Even through exile, though sometimes it's a small minority.
The Palestine Mandate originally granted about 5X the size of the current state of Israel, that Great Britain held in the ME, as a homeland for the Jewish people. (See Joan Peter's From Time Immemorial, pgs 236 - 237)
This mandate was approved by League of Nations in 1922.
Great Britain interpreted that differently than one would suspect. They gave Jordan the largest portion of it, (This is why I often say, There already IS a Palestinian state, it's called Jordan!)
Great question and definitely needed..that word is interesting because people throw it around in WAY different ways.
If I defined it I would just keep it simple and say it's just the belief that Jews should have certain land rights??
Honestly I don't truly know the original definition...just that people sure use it alot haha. You wanna help a brother out and share your thoughts??
