The actual problem is Christ’s return could’ve happened 10 minutes after the Ascension and therefore needs no event to be completed first. His return is and has always been imminent and has NOT occurred yet.
and no one knows but the Father . . .
Our political decisions should not be made based on anyone's eschatology: not Israel's, not so-called Evangelical Christians. SHEESH how can THEY pretend to know, when only the Father knows?!?
And we are not supposed to try to figure it out...
Hubris is the downfall of any man. Pretending to know anything that the Creator has designed in a future tense is both folly and fool-worthy.
That being said, I think it is perfectly fine to recognize the patterns and signs delineated in scripture. But ultimately we must confess that we know nothing, and that's ok!
