All able bodied, able minded males in Finland are conscripted, go through basic training and are establishes as reservists at which point they are issued a rifle.
While they might be underfunded, returning to duty with the rifle they were issued makes sense.
What exactly are those helmets protecting... when 75% of the head is fully exposed? Those look more like bicycle helmets than anything I'd want to wear in a war situation.
The helmets might protect from a bump on the head, but in combat they look useless.

They’re not ballistic helmets. Literally called bump helmets. And attach comms and maybe night vision units.
Take grandpas assault musket. Get stood down maybe?
