My thoughts… Irans History is Violence, Threats of More Violence and Empty Promises that they Continue to Make and Break… I’d imagine These men realize that…
The comment, since it was publicly stated to the media, was certainly for everyone with ears who was listening. I'll never agree that being seen as wanting war and violence on a scale such as that is a good thing. You can be good at war, confident in it, but also not be seeking it. It's simply not a good look, or good morals to be known as a warmonger.
I disagree. I think these are great optics. The warriors are chomping at the bit for more war but the president, meanwhile, is projecting a conciliatory attitude. Ever hear of “good cop, bad cop”? A diplomat is more persuasive holding a leashed pair of snarling pit bulls.
And might I say again that Pete Hegseth is my favorite person in the administration. He’s been FANTASTIC as Secretary of WAR! :)

Not really good optics, honestly.
"It is well that war is so terrible -- lest we should grow too fond of it." -- Robert E. Lee.
Having your enemy agree to terms IS winning. It is not a good look to be wanting war.
Well, would you want to project strength or weakness? That comment wasn't for us, get my drift?

The perfect optic thing to say
A second and very important part of any war is to win the peace.
If we weren’t prepared to wipe them out, we shouldn’t have gone in.
