That was my first thought also bb and later in the Q & A he was asked if it was related to the Strait and he replied, "Yes, gas and oil"

I'm guessing Kharg Island. Iran's main oil terminal. This would cut off the flow of money to the old regime (hopefully leading to collapse) and provide leverage over countries that rely on Iranian oil. If the old regime collapses and the Basij/IRGC troops defect it will clear the way for the people of Iran to take back their country.
