One a side note - in case anyone questions how long people knew about cigarettes, find some old WWII history books and combat veteran personal diaries. They were calling them cancer sticks and coffin nails in the early 1940's. It was already in the vernacular and not new information when the war broke out.

"Smoker's Cough" was first used in 1898 as a term to describe one of the negative medical effects of smoking tobacco.

No one thought smoking was good for you.
