I don' think this is practical at all. Sounds nice, emotionally satisfying for some, but completely impractical.
A judge cannot be directly responsible for someone else's actions. You'd never get anyone at all to take on being a judge.
But, some steps could be implemented.
For example, if a criminal improperly released causes damage further hurt, the judge could be held criminally negligible. So then, impeached and removed. With penalties for professional negligence similar to how other professions are held to be professionally responsible.
The idea that a judge can simply be 'fired' doesn't work on the federal level or on the state level in most cases.
I do agree that citizens must have more power to remove problem judges.
