I’m all for it, but then we should finally get a peace treaty. After all, Germany is NOT a sovereign state and remains subject to US occupation laws. So far, only Russia has withdrawn its forces—on the condition that no foreign forces may be stationed on the former territory of the GDR.
From the German Wikipedia: The command Commander Task Force Baltic (also CTF Baltic or CTFB) has been monitoring the Baltic Sea region on behalf of NATO since October 2024 and occasionally assumes command duties for the alliance. Since 2024, the headquarters of CTF Baltic has been in Rostock, where the German Navy leads the command with up to 180 personnel and international participation;
in 2028, the headquarters is scheduled to move to Poland.
Russia and the former Soviet Union have always fulfilled/honored their treaties. The so-called Two Plus Four Treaty seems to mean nothing to the West.
