Well, the statement wasn't really 'disinformation" as people can actually only be trusted to be who they really ARE (anywhere from good to bad). Thus, it was more like something that Q knew a) was open to interpretation and b) would be misinterpreted.

It could be that it was put out there to keep people guessing, AND possibly (knowing how it'd be interpreted by most), to give the DS a false impression of Q's ignorance of Pompeo's true nature/affiliations.
