This site is for us to share our research with others. "Always verify" makes sense as a precaution, but "Do your own research" just sounds lazy and really isn't helpful.
Not everyone can "monitor the situation" to the degree of rigor that thorough research requires. Many are still waging a daily war of just trying to survive among crippling debt and overwhelming inflation. Some use GAW simply to help filter out the excess noise on X (since most posts here are just reposts of stuff from X anyway).
Please be mindful that many are not as blessed with their free time as you might be.
Sounds like you asked something and that is what you were told and now you just want to rant a little and that's fine as far as I'm concerned.
There is a difference between this board and IRL idiots and NPCs among those idiots. (Disclaimer: I too am an idiot in many, many ways.)
You have great advice among the current comments. I'll just add; don't get discouraged, most of us will help. I answer day 1 questions here all the time, if I see them. As other have said though, it is imperative that you travel through your own journey. It can be a lonely walk, for sure. I understand that life is hard and there are priorities that consume time but as you venture on, that time will find you. Again, don't be afraid to ask but be ready to have thick skin when you do.
