As an aside, I was unfamiliar with Hillary using that term, so did a quick Google and found the following reddit thread discussing the term "Easter Worshippers".
What's fascinating to me is the decline in conversation on reddit between this post (7 years ago) and now. To me it's jaw dropping how obvious the present day narrative is non-natural in comparison.
I heard Roger Avary on Joe Rogan recently half jokingly float the idea he thought TPTB had activated mind control in the masses via subliminal messages (kind of like the advertisement in Halloween 3) and drove the world literally insane. There may be something to that, judging by reddit.
Check out a thread where redditors are semi-rational:
For instance, you'd never see a comment like the following up upvoted to 172 today:
"My honest opinion is that like with many public debates, this is a manufactured controversy designed to reinforce in-group mentality and identity among their targets core/base audience. That is a common PR technique if you are going for control rather than positive participation in your market. In those situations, sound argumentative logic is not necessary."
