Retrofitting a Haunted Prison on an island in the middle of the Bay. To once again house prisoners. Sounds like a plot to a movie.

Fun fact: Alcatraz is one of the few places Marines have conducted combat operations on U.S soil. Battle of Alcatraz in May 1946.

An escape attempt turned into an Armed standoff. The Warden called for Federal Assistance. Half a company of Veteran Marines under General Joseph Stilwell and Frank Merrill from Naval Station Treasure Island deployed.
