I thought we sunk all there ships? So how are they blocking the strait? Especially with all our ships in the area?
They are not really blocking it,it is the western insurance companies preventing them from sailing.
Because the straight is relatively narrow - Iran can fire missiles and drones at ships in the straight. They also have the ability to put mines in the straight.
What are they using to place said mines? I heard we turned their navy in to submarines.
Sea mines are very inexpensive to deploy - they can use small civilian boats to place them. We know they have many of these mines and the coastline of Iran makes it very hard to stop before they are placed. It’s not something they need some massive navy ship to deploy.
