alcohol is very useful actually, in the medicine cabinet. You can use it as a disinfectant, and it make excellent mouthwash. And a homestill won't increase drunkenness.
It is far easier to produce many bioactive compounds from biological sources than it would be to synthesize them from raw materials or precursors.

Noice. My son built a still that is magic, IMO. He describes how it works, but it is way above my head. But the vodka is the cleanest ever.
