This was mentioned yesterday in this group and I think it’s worth mentioning again for all that may have missed it. What is possibly happening here is they are scared to death that 2 republicans could win the primary and be on the November ballot. Now with Swalwel out all of his supporters will vote for the other democrat making it harder for the 2 republicans. Why is this happening now? Why CNN? Why is everyone in his party turning on him? They have had the dirt on him for years but have been protecting him. Now they are desperate to stay in power so they are ratting out one of their own to do it. Plus the fact that they are only calling for him to drop out of the governor race but not to step down from Congress is also very suspicious to the motive behind it.

The Dems knew that the GOP had this information and that it was going to remove Swalwell from the running because it was so damning. They are doing this pre-emptively so that they have a viable replacement with enough time left to win.
From what I have read when I researched this, the deadline for any candidate to enter the race was over in March so I don’t see how they can put another candidate in.
