It’s technically a wealth redistribution. It’s a luxury tax, property taxes for city, county, etc should be based on your impact of your property to the city, number of bathrooms you have, how many feet of street, etc. that way almost everybody’s bill would be the same.

The schools are the problem.

Property taxes in my area average over 10k per year.

Yes, that's correct. And I'm on the lower end of the area. Some housing developments are over 15-17k
