There was a bank back in the day that offered kids accounts, and we got them for the eligible kids (primary school age). The difference it made, was that it made the transition into the 'real world' easier for them. The younger kids that didn't have them, took longer, and were put under extreme pressure, because getting a bank account is like a rubic's cube. First one has to have two forms of ID, and correspondence showing you at the address you live at, etc. It proved a project that lasted months, because getting the IDs, also has thresholds ... And the trick is to find out how to start the first step up...
If one already has a bank account, then all that goes away.
