I agree with your conclusion, but to me, it's more than target practice. While in college studying engineering many of my classmates were Iranian. They were among the brightest students, all of them. I became friends, they were really nice people. One of my engineering professors was Iranian. He was top-notch and would always take time to explain things to me after class, if I had questions. At that time, I had the hope that after I graduated our friendships would continue.
Based on these personal experiences, I have always wanted to see them made free again. It's possible the PDJT had similar experiences in that time frame.
The issue is that I don't see any way for them to become free as long as any remnant of their current government survives. It seems to me that the best way to free the Iranians is to completely destroy the IRGC from top to bottom, and none of the peace deals on the table would do that.
Absolutely. The Iranian people know this and want it, or so it seems. If the IRGC stays in power, they will suffer endlessly. If we blow the IRGC to hell and beyond, they still suffer, but the suffering comes to an end. Hopefully.
