I was driving through my area of northeastern NC earlier today. There are treated fields that are all dead looking, with just a weed or two in the entire field. Then there are untreated fields that are full as can be with yellow buttercups. You can see exactly who has sold out and who hasn't.
Here's a tip to anyone who has handled chemicals who might be overweight. Poisons are stored in fat. If you lose weight quickly, all that poison is released and may kill you. That happened to someone I know.
Large crop pests (Japanese beetles and tobacco worms) used to be removed and destroyed manually. But no one wants to do that kind of manual labor any more.
Some fields aren't tilled, but many are tilled in my area and NC as a whole. One major problem with no till is that everything is removed, which depletes minerals. Burning and tilling returns most of the minerals to the soil. Only the crop material itself is ever removed.
At least my cancer treatment was paid by insurance. Insurance is being billed over $30,000 for each treatment, every three weeks. I pay $10 in copay. Someone is getting screwed, as I'm not paying enough in insurance to cover that much money.
Here's a link I found helpful. It details foods to avoid due to high amounts of glyphosate and discusses how to clean produce. It also shows a food label symbol to look for when buying packaged food.
I never cease to be amazed by the things I learn on GAW...
“I was very clear with the president about my own displeasure with the executive order,” Kennedy told Schatz. “The president felt it was necessary for national security reasons.”
The health secretary said the idea for the executive order came from the Pentagon, and the administration regards the issue as one that Trump inherited—not created.
The overwhelming majority of American agriculture relies on glyphosate-based herbicides, and “100 percent of that is coming from China,” Kennedy said.
“You have an adversary that could literally shut down the American food supply overnight,” he testified. “[Trump’s] executive order does not increase the use of glyphosate. All it says is, as long as we’re dependent on it, we’re going to make it here.”
In Kennedy’s X post, he stated that cross-agency steps are being taken to shift away from harmful agricultural practices. The health secretary reaffirmed this goal to lawmakers at the April 21 hearing.
Because the Chinese can put just about anything harmful to humans and no one would be the wiser...IN OTHER WORDS, WE MAKE THE DAMN STUFF HERE IN THE UNITED STATES AND NOT RELY ON CHINA!!!!!!!
Glyphosate was mass used in mid 1990s once crops.were engineered to survive being sprayed. Cancer cases stayed relatively constant until 2021,.for 25 years.

Weeds in fields used to be fertilizer as they'd decompose when the field got tilled. Now we don't till fields.

The States that have the highest use, also have the highest cancer rates. The cost of the Cancer treatment must offset the money saved in farming?

Huh. What is the likelihood the glyphosate we produce here is somehow different or more "safe"?

Don't distract from the jibby, bobby
What clean running water? The only clean water we have requires expensive filtration, is expensive to buy, or distilled at home.
